- Studio will be warm at least 75-80 if not warmer. I recommend you dress in layers.
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks along
- If breastfeeding please try to avoid spicy foods and foods that can cause gas like broccoli, beans etc. This can cause baby to be gassy and unsettled during your shoot.
- Please do not worry if you want naked baby shots. All my props are washable and I have been pooped, peed and thrown up on before. It is bound to happen with these types of pictures.
- Please bring a pacifier even if Baby doesn't normally take one. It helps to soothe the baby especially if they are cluster feeding.
We offer a large variety of backdrops, props, wraps, accessories, and newborn outfits.
If you are considering other shoots for your baby, please view our GROW WITH ME package.
When booking a session, HALF of the session cost is due as a NON-REFUNDABLE Retainer to hold your date.
The Balance is due at the session
48-hour cancellation policy: If you need to cancel, you will forfeit your retainer unless you reschedule.
FAQ about your Newborn Session
How do we schedule since we don’t know when baby will arrive?
I will pencil in your due date on my calendar, then I ask that you message, call or text me with in 3 day of baby’s arrival so we can schedule your session time. I only plan/book so many babies a month.
How soon should I book a Newborn session?
I offer a great grow-with-me package as well as just a newborn session. If you choose just a newborn session or to start your grow with me session at the newborn stage then I suggest booking when you are around 6-7 months. If you have recently had your baby or will have your baby it is not too late to book please call or message me as soon as possible and I will try my best to get you a session time.
What is the best age for a newborn session?
Highly recommended to have your session with in the first 14 days but I have had great sessions up to 21 days. The older the baby the less likely you will get the sleepy cuddly shots.
How long does a newborn session last?
Plan on 1-3 hours with an average of 2 ½ hours. This gives us plenty of time for feedings, changes, cuddles and poses. I follow baby’s lead in what we are able to do. This is why we do not offer mini sessions for newborns.
Do I need to bring outfits?
Newborns are so tiny that most outfits do not fit completely. I suggest using wraps during your session. Wraps are also easier to change and can be done without disturbing the baby. With that being said if you have an outfit that you would like photographed please bring it and I will more than gladly use it. I have many colors/types of wraps and lots of headbands that can be used during the session.
Can siblings and or Mom/Dad be in the pictures?
Yes, Newborn sessions can include siblings and mom and dad at no extra charge. Family pictures and sibling pictures will be done first. You may want to consider having someone pick up the siblings after about the first hour. Three hours tends to be a long time for them. There is also a local park and water park within walking distance of the studio.
What is the difference between a newborn session and a lifestyle session? Can you come to my home for a Newborn session?
Newborn sessions take place in the studio with full props and poses. In-home newborns sessions are more a lifestyle session. I do not bring many props or items to your home. I use your home as a backdrops and your items as props. Great rooms for lifestyle sessions are the nursery, your bedroom, and the living room. I tend to use natural light as much as I can for home sessions.
